Dear Praying Partners,
I have been in Zambia 20 days now. I traveled to Lusaka, the capitol city of Zambia, to meet with the nursing council. When I presented my transcript to her she looked at it and told me I didn't have enough of hours in medical/surgical (I needed 100 hours) to take the test. My heart sunk. I began praying silently as Liz Anderson tried to explain the numbers were credits not hours. She finally agreed to let me take the test if we got a statement from Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) listing the hours instead of the credits. So Liz email IWU an obtained the information.

I took the test on June 2nd. It will take 6-8 weeks before results are posted. Please keep the results in your prayers. I am back in Zimba now and while waiting for the results of the test I will use those 6-8 weeks to focus on language. I am excited to report; I had my first lesson today. It went well. Since I am unable to do nursing until I am licensed, I also will be a volunteer at the hospital a few hours a day helping out in various areas; counting pills in the pharmacy, working the registry, & weighing babies. Elections are on Thursday. There is a political unrest at the present time and will be until after elections. Please pray for Zambia at this particular time and for my safety. It will not be safe for me to be off the compound until after the elections unless there are 2 or more people are with me.Thank you for your Prayer and Support,
In HIS Grip,
Joan
