June 25 Note

(rec. June 25, 2005)

Sunday we went to Buyu for service. It is literally out in the bush. In some places we had to blaze our own trail. I have never been in such a service. Liz Anderson preached. The service was 4 hours long. We had many responses to accept Christ. The congregation was praying/singing while specific others were praying over those to be saved. We had 5 that were demon possessed. As they were praying over them, satan manifested himself…just like in the Bible. He threw them down on the ground and they were thrashing. One woman became violent and it took 4 people to take her out of the church. They took her out and I could hear them praying over her for satan to come out. One girl they were praying over never got delivered. They told her to say Jesus and she couldn't…all she could get out was Je…Je, they told her to open her eyes and she wouldn't/couldn't (I don't know which), but when she finally did, you could see the evil. They prayed over her but she wasn't delivered. My heart felt sad. I never prayed so hard in all my life. I covet your prayers for the people we are ministering to…that the stronghold of satan would be broken and for this time as I go through new experiences.

After service the ladies prepared us a traditional Zambian meal of chicken & nsima (a thick cornmeal).
I Thank you for your prayers & support!
